Elizabeth Baba (nee Betterbed), 105, of Rutherford, passed away at home on Saturday, May 6th, 2017. She was just 4 days shy of her 106th birthday. Elizabeth was a resident of Rutherford for 89 years. Born in Paterson NJ in 1911 to Henry and Mary Betterbed. She married her husband Joseph Baba in 1928 and remained married for 32 years until he passed away in 1960. Elizabeth was a member of Eastern Star of Rutherford for 75 years and a longtime volunteer for the Assyrian Church of the Virgin Mary in Paramus. She loved to travel, play cards, cook and most of all spend time with her family.
Elizabeth will be deeply missed by her beloved daughter Linda Baba, her 2 nephews and many great-great nieces, great-great nephews and a great-great-great niece, all of whom lived nearby and referred to Elizabeth as their “Auntie”.
She is predeceased by her daughter Evelyn Baba (2012), her grandson Glen Allen (1956) and her 7 siblings.

Family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 to 9pm in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford.
Funeral will be on Wednesday, all to gather at 9am for a Prayer Service at 10am by the Very Reverend John Khoury.
Interment in Hillside Cemetery, 640 Rutherford Ave., Lyndhurst, NJ.
