Sara Hernandez, 94, of Rutherford, passed away on Saturday April 8th, 2017. Born to Victor Golden and Arcelia Ramos in San Juan Puerto Rico. In 1944 when Sara was 18 years old, she and her family entered to the United States for a new life.
Sara loved to dance on Saturday nights. Family was most important to her and Sara was blessed with a large and loving family.

Sara will be deeply missed by her Children; Alexandra Russell & husband Douglas and Sara Melendez, Grandchildren; Doreen & husband Joe Lechuga, Gerald & wife Patricia Melendez, Christine, Monique, April & husband Michael Hagen; great-grandchildren; Dasia, Joseph, Branden, Anneliese, Stella, Mason, and her brother Victor Golden. Her extended family children; Dougie & wife Kerri, Dawn & husband Craig, and grandchildren; Daniel, Kyle, Douglas, Jessica and Haleigh.
She is predeceased by her siblings, Carmen Ramos and Enrique Golden.

Our beloved mother, we are blessed to have an angel like you to raise and love us unconditionally.
You taught us how to forgive, understand and give of ourselves without expecting anything in return. Your love for God and your pride in the United States of America was so great that it will live on, in each of us forever. We’ll miss you dearly and your wonderful cooking, too.

Family will receive friends and loved ones on Wednesday 5-8pm in Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave.,Rutherford.
Funeral Thursday 8:30am from Funeral Home for 9:30am Mass of Christian Liturgy in the Church of Saint Mary, Rutherford.
Interment in George Washington Memorial Park, 234 Paramus Rd., Paramus.
